In the marketing field, designing a map for a location is crucial for effectively organizing and promoting events. A well-crafted map enhances the attendee experience by providing clear navigation and highlighting key areas, ensuring seamless movement and engagement at the event.
I completed a project for a food festival organized by the Low Entropy Foundation. Their request was not only to create maps but also to take measurements so that I could accurately place various elements such as the nearly 100 vendors' tents, a bouncy castle for the children's play area, public toilets, trash cans, water stations, parking lots, food trucks, and more.
The starting point for the design was a Google Maps image. Based on the measurements, the locations of the trees, and the dimensions provided for the tents, I was able to decide how to place the tents to ensure comfortable distances for visitors. I positioned the other elements similarly. The client requested three maps: one showing the vendors' tents, another zoomed in on the tent area only, and a third for the public (without the tents shown). I created the design in Adobe Illustrator.
