Designing templates for social media not only helps me save time when creating posts but also helps maintain consistency in my client's feed. When designing a template, I must consider branding elements such as the logo, colours, typography, and the message and feeling I want to convey to the audience.
The client for this project was the organizer of a live music festival in Vancouver, Sonic Summer Nights. Less than a month before the event, they aimed to launch a social media campaign to promote it, primarily focusing on Facebook and Instagram. In designing the project, I had several guiding elements at my disposal: the festival’s logo, which had colours different from the main colour scheme; the specified fonts, and the event’s website page. My challenge was to strike a balance between these colours, ensuring sufficient contrast to make the festival logo, sponsors’ logos, and text visible. To achieve this, I employed Illustrator to create a versatile gradient background that could be used in various ways for the templates. Additionally, for the final compositions, I utilized Canva.
